What We Collect

Discs collects minimal data to operate. When you first open the app, an anonymous account is created via Firebase Authentication. This account has no name, email, or personal information attached to it — only a random identifier used to sync your rip count across devices.

During the free trial period, we store a count of how many CDs you've ripped in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your anonymous ID. This is used solely to manage your free rip allowance. Once you purchase the app, this counter stops updating.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. We verify purchase receipts server-side to confirm validity but do not store payment details. Google handles all payment processing.

Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage patterns and diagnose crashes. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Your Music

All music you rip stays on your device. We do not upload, access, or process your audio files in any way. Album metadata (titles, artist names, track listings) is retrieved from infrastructure operated by Discs and is not shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Firebase Authentication (anonymous accounts)
  • Cloud Firestore (rip count storage)
  • Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
  • Google Play Billing (purchase verification)

Data Deletion

Since your account is anonymous, uninstalling the app effectively removes your association with any stored data. If you'd like your Firestore record explicitly deleted, contact us at the address below.
